FISSO DELLA CITTA' DI TORINO

1734 - 1737

 

King Charles Emmanuel III gives order the 24 march 1734 to raise a new national regiment, called Fisso della Città di Torino (Fixed of the City of Turin), of volunteers citizens inhabitant in the Capital of the Kingdom Turin. It has to be the garrison of the city. It has 10 companies.  

Service during the Polish Succession War

The Regiment Fisso della Città di Torino has only garrison duties in the Placefort of Turin.

In 1737 this unit is dibanded.

Uniform 

 

Dark blue coat, red lining, cuffs, waistcoat, breeches, collar. White gaiters for fusilier, black for grenadiers. Nine tinned buttons in five ranks, a single one in the bottom and four ranks of two on each side of the coat, three on the cuffs. Horizontal pockets. Tricorne with dark blue cockade on the left brim and withe hem for fusiliers, bearskin cap for grenadiers.

 

Colours

 

Colonel's Colour: Blue with black eagle in the centre decorated with the Savoy's cross and overhanged by royal crown.

 

Regimental Colour:

Regimental Colour: White cross over blu and yellow hem. Four golden bulls (the bull is the Coat of Arm of Turin) in each quarter. A latin motto in the first quarter: "Auxilium Meum a Domino".
