King Charles Emmanuel III signs the 13 november 1733 a capitulation with Franz and Frederick Ghidt to raise an infantry regiment of two battallion of 4 companies each, called Ghidt.

Service during the Polish Succession War

Ghidt is transferred in garrison in Sardinia but it has great difficulties to raise the companies of the capitulation. In 1737 Ghidt is again in Piedmont but its colonel ask to the King for disbanding the unit. In september 1737 Ghidt is officially disbanded and all its men escorted outside the Kingdom, from Turin to Great S. Bernard gap.

Colonel's Colour: Blue with black eagle in the centre decorated with the Savoy's cross and overhanged by royal crown.
